I am incredibly excited that Mr Rock is coming to town in early January 2012, and guess what? I will be getting a chance to see him from the first class seats! Looking at the videos from his Hong Kong Tour all over YouTube, I am really pumped up and anticipating his coming to Singapore.

With all his mega hits and ultra powerful voice, I have a feeling that be it ballads or his famous rock songs, they will definitely tear down the indoor stadium and shake everyone up.

Celebrating The First Day Of The Month

How else would be a great way to relax than spend a nice evening with your girlfriends having dinner, shopping and chat. We did just that and I really enjoyed my time with Mich & Ella. A sumptuous dinner at TCC was an added bonus!

Mushroom Bites

A simple snack made with rough puff pastry and mushroom stuffing that would be a great starter for shrooms lovers. I enjoyed it and felt it was a real good dish that was just the right bite size!

Tomato Tortellini

A nice presentation and combination of ingredients with the well mixed herbs and rich tomato base. A well enjoyed meal especially for pasta lovers.

Mushroom & Shrimp Gratin

I really enjoyed this as there was just the most sauce and fillings you could ever find. This was the first time that I wanted to have more of a gratin and I was impressed that I wasn't overly full or feeling bored of the food after finishing the entire plate. Kudo's!

Desserts

What more can I say about the drinks and desserts except that they so enjoyable? A great way to lighten our mood at the beginning of the month. TCC was a great choice for our dinner date tonight along with the shopping and company with these 2 wonderful ladies.

Have A Vintage Tea Party

Enjoyed the many tastes of delights as we had a very healthy and fresh dinner at Dempsy's. I didn't really catch the name of the place as we were hussling in and out, but I must say that the food was impressive. I do thank Janice for the great recommendation! So here were some of the things we tried that evening.

Crispy Thai Beef Salad

This could be a nice dish and the only thing short would probably be that the beef could have been a little more on the tender side. The dish was made more towards being a 'snack' and perhaps why the crispy potato chip feel.

1 Meter Long Sausage (Chicken)

This was wonderful, and the best thing is that it is 1 meter long, and comes in 3 different flavours (Chicken, Beef, Pork) Sausages are really self explanatory and you would love how juicy and succulent the meat is! The contrast with the basil and herbs made the taste even more unforgettable.

Truffled Mushroom Pizza

A definite must try for pizza lovers as this would really make you want to come back for more. The tender truffled mushrooms on top of the light crispy base was just incredible. This was simply awesome, and it really is, coming from a non-pizza-lover, like me.

Brownie, Ice Nougat & Strawberry Short Cake

Desserts are always to highlights in dinner parties and these for the record, were great. I would say that the brownie and strawberry shortcake were alright, however, the ice nougat cake was really an eye opener. If you are a lover of caramel and an inquisitive foodie, this would be perfect for you!

Dinner was wonderful for me and I am glad to embrace to power and beauty of cuisine! Hope to get back to this place in the near future to enjoy their teaparty in the afternoons, and next time, I would be sure to jot the address for everyone!

Made reservations last Saturday at Mandarin Oriental Singapore's, Cherry Garden Restaurant to celebrate Michelle's special day. This was a real pleasant place to be enjoying a relaxing and delicious meal together. Eating Up!

The very fact that we love dim sum, gave us a great excuse to select this wonderful place for tea! Take a look at some of our very awesome selections!

Shark Fin Dumpling

This was alright, with the bit of shark's fin on the top, but well, we should not eat shark's fin, so, I would not really recommend this dish! But on the overall, an acceptable taste with a smooth finish.

Fried Shrimp Roll With Mango

This was a wonderful combination and the mango went really well with the shrimp, giving the whole dish a strong contrast in flavours. This was a good thing as you would not get sick of this dish!

Stewed Pork

Getting tender pieces of meat just melt in your mouth, you would not ever ask for more. I think that this is self explanatory.

Fried Cheesy Roll

This was a special that came and tasted like the Kinder Surprise. With smooth cheese oozing out on every bite, this was an excellent fried dish you should order.

Wasabi Prawns

This was awesome as a prawn lover, and the dip was just right to make you want to come back for more. Adding on a slightly pungent tinge to the dish with each dip, the prawns tasted explosive along with the crispy skin and dip.

These few dishes were the ordinary, including my favourite Xiao Long Bao, etc, and yes, they are kind of staples, or should I say, the more common dishes in dim sum restaurants.

Mango Pudding With Lime Sorbet, Avocado Cream With Walnut Ice Cream & Watermelon Sago

To end off, these were the satisfying desserts! I especially loved the avocado cream with walnut ice cream as it was such a rich dessert which just attracted the milk loving me. You all should try this and feel yourself be transported into a tropical island like area while enjoying the dishes.

There would be one word to describe the food, and that would be awesome. Not to mention, the staff gave wonderful service and were very patient, knowledgeable and attentive. Thumbs up! So after the main course, we of course went on to the main event!

We experienced the adventure and it was definitely one that was very exhilarating. Although we were fairly well protected, it was inevitable to get bruised a little. Nevertheless, it was fun and something worth to tryout. But be warned that this is not a simple feat.

All in all, it was a very enriching journey that day as I managed to complete many challenges that I never thought I would be able to do. Meeting people from different walks of life was also a great hull for me. I too, appreciated the hospitality and detailed demonstration of the functions of the lenses by the hosts and would definitely recommend Air Optix lenses to you as an item to spend a day out in comfort! There has been so much going on recently and I really do not know where to start. There are just so much frustrations going on and sometimes, I really do not even know who to call even when I pick up the phone and want to dial a number so bad. Friends are around me, but sometimes, it is just hard to express to them during these times. Work, business and life has just been so unkind to me recently and it's to a point where I feel like crying every moment of the day. I should be staying positive and truly, I have been trying so so so hard.

I really only can think of one person I could tell everything to. But.. it's no longer my call... My heart just feels like bursting because now that I think about it. I only want you. Getting the signal that you just want to remain as friends hurts me as I think about all the promises from the past. People tell me all sorts of comforting words and I try to tell myself that too. But in the end, I still believe in you, I still believe you are my angel. But.. your wings have taken flight and I feel that I have been left behind.

Now, I wallow in emptiness everyday with nothing to look forward to. I am not putting on self pity, but I just feel incomplete. All I can do is feign happiness and retreat into my own sanctuary where only see my true emotions. I really hate this feeling. But I just can't forget... I don't want to forget...

A great night in high society as I enjoyed the evening with the wonderful people from the Australian Wine Index. Attended a wine tasting event at the Screening Room (Ann Siang Hill) and that was really a nice cosy place to relax at.

Had a great time at the festival learning about the yachting industry and hanging out with the ladies. I haven't got the time to post up a full post on IA yet, but this is just a little sneak preview on what will be going up on the post!

My Valentine

I found that in the midst of my busy life, having peace and quiet on a single day with my loved ones would be really the best present. And really, although not extravagant, this day was really the best gift to me. After all, I am one that prefers quality time over gifts, and all other things.

I would just say that I really enjoyed everything and seriously think, everyday can be Valentines as long as we are committed. But knowing me, I love food, and that is probably why I have been gaining weight, but never the less, here was the enjoyable lunch we had at Ding Tai Fung.

So what to do with that full tummy? We went shopping around and went up to the top level at NEX where there was this whole Pet Safari thing going on. I never expected that dogs would be so highly pampered and guess what? The whole place was swarming with pet lovers in the little dog playground outdoors and they even had a pet cafe where owners could bring their pets for tea. OMG? I was seriously amused and could not stop peeking at the guests in that place. Adorable.

What's more? We entered the Pet Shop and were greeted by so many fluffy puppies in the FOR SALE corner.

Had a hard time leaving the place cause there was just too many things to see like dogs grooming, for sales, in the playground, at the cafe? But well, we had to leave for our next plan that day.

We headed off to Ken Heng for foot reflexology and I really love S for that because I think I really am in dire need of releasing the muscle tension in my body. The masseuse was so experienced and they really squished the pain out of us.

I literally could FLY after the 40 minute session. And off we did to the cinema. We really had such a full packed day and a movie would just round thing up even more. Caught, All's Well Ends Well, a very typical HK movie, but well, it was quite enjoyable and hilarious. A light hearted movie for the weekend.

Thanks to E2i, I had the opportunity to attend the Ginvera Skin Care Workshop held at Republic Polytechnic Cultural Centre. This aim of the workshop was probably to teach ladies how to carry out skin care with their products and yes, there was a vast lot.

The Presentation

Covered most of the points on how blackheads form and the reasons and preventions for acne and other skin problems.

The Ambassador

Michelle Chia, their long-time ambassador was mentioned in almost everything during the talk. But I must say, that she really has almost perfect complexion, from a personal encounter with her.

The Products

A variety of skin care from their latest series (Green Tea Whitening Set). There was a whole range from cleansers, toners and creams. I felt that the marvel gel had the greatest effect and hence let me show you guys what I mean.

Testing Ginvera Marvel Gel (Green Tea)

Well, they claim that with use of the marvel gel, you can say 'bye' to your blackheads in a wash. I tried it first on my hand then on the face, and this is what it would look like during use.

Before

Apply an adequate amount (20 cent coin) on your dry hand and rub in a circular motion. Always use marvel gel on dry skin.

After

Beads would appear on your hand after a while of rubbing and those would be your dead skill cells. Do not think that this is just the effect of the gel. In fact, we tried it on the table as well, and there were no such beads formed. Impressed?

Wipe off the gel with a tissue or cotton wool and feel the difference. There was a cooling and smooth feel to my skin and there was obvious difference to the texture on my hands. It wasn't bad at all!

Of course there were also other cool products which I enjoyed.

Refreshing and gets easily absorbed into your skin without leaving a layer of sticky residue. Thumbs up!

Probably one of my favourite as well, since I have always had problems with those dark eye circles!

Enjoyed myself during the workshop as we learnt about the way to use each product and care for our skins. Of course, we also did not leave empty handed! Loads of freebies were given out by the friendly staff and trainers. Wonderful!

I enjoyed the session with my babes and it was really fun to attend such workshops as we get to learn from the professionals, and thus make us more proficient in handling our own skin. Thanks again, to the Ginvera staff for their earnest teaching attitudes.

Anyway, we enjoyed Burlesque which I feel was a great movie! One of the best musicals which I highly recommend! Well, you'll know how good it is only after you experienced it for yourselves.

Headed over to C's place after that for a K session with her new sound system. It was awesome as well. Thanks to her, we now get to enjoy singing in the comfort of her place! Now it's time to hit the sacks! Gosh, it's 4am.

Finally the day for the dinner and what more to expect then a beautiful wedding hall with the most glamourous pictures of beautiful Evon and Melvin.

On entering the ball room, the whole place was nicely decorated with lights, candles and roses. A wonderful venue. What's more, we got cute door gifts with the little couple on it. In case you want know, the gift was teabags. Cutely done in the shape of a passport.

It was a wonderful night with the B&S stuffing ourselves with endless food and crates of XL Bao's at Crystal Jade. It was quite a cozy celebration with everyone back to back. Once again that feeling of the whole group during get together's brings reminiscences.

Chilled out at Wala with a smaller group thereafter. It was fun with the dumb games that really made me lose all the time. Even Love was finding it hard to 'protect' me due to my slowness to react. I hate that part of me.

The first ever gadget convention that I have attended and I was some what really excited to find out more about the certain devices which I have been studying about for the pass few months.

I was intrigued by the information that S had shared with me and hence, there we were at the workshop to find out more about HTC and Android which Google recommends for flexibility and reliability.

Sad to say, we were left a little disappointed as the information shared at the dialogue was nothing more than what we had already found out from online sources.

But at least, the session was not wasted as we were granted first hand previews and an opportunity to use the newest devices that were going to be released into the local market.

I can't help but phase out all other choices of phones when I met these three. Operating on the current Android platform 2.2 (Froyo), the phones just out rank others with the slick design, functions and of course, HTC Sense OS.

I would not rant much into the details but just share that these phones are the titans of choice as they do represent quality in a small package, especially with Desire reigning the techy market as number 1 phone for quite some time already.

Lucky for me, HTC presented every participant with a little gift of love, granting a S$100 discount on any desire series phone. But the problem now is, WHICH ONE TO GET!

Now I know what goes through the mind of elites. It is a totally different world, mindset and elaboration in their thinking patterns. Ideas are everywhere but the brains that can work it, is one in a million.

Money generating is important, but is everyone capable of making that billion? I salute him in a way for being able to make his way through everything. Although there were mistakes here and there. Everyone learns. I for one would take this opportunity to also learn and tell myself, be innovative and seek for improvement. As only you can rely on yourself.

I enjoyed reading through the lines and lingo's in this very interesting bibliography. It has given me motivation to continue my aspirations and work towards making my own life work. Aim for that billion, just keep ideas coming up and dare to take that step forward.

Before going on about the wonders in Hong Kong, I decided that I wanted to update on the stuffs that were unfinished before I left home grounds. So here it goes as I start on food glorious food. We visited this place after my meeting at Mountbatten HQ and I really loved the food there.

I must admit that I had a great time after work with love at this place. There really was a huge selection of food and i'm kind of envious that Min stays just above all this bustle. If I was living around the area, I would probably be the happiest foodie out there. Just take a look at the spread we had!

I think that you would all just love the food there, especially with the wide choices that are available for everyone. Love and I really want to try the mini steamboat the next time as it was so tempting and cheap at 5 plus dollars, depending on which set you choose. I am really getting so excited to try the food there once more. Hope to get back there soon!
