Dialogue In The Dark
It was a great experience to go into the world of visual impairment. The dialogue in the dark exibit is an exibit led by the visually impaired to help able people understand what it is like in their world. And seriously, this was a very good opportunity and experience to learn about what it was like to be in a world of darkness. I especially adored our groups' leader, Lily who brought us through the whole experience. It was really an eye opener to learn how to use the walking can and be in a situation where eyesight was something we could not use.
The whole experience started off with light activities to entertain our group as we waited for our appointed time to enter the exhibit. I must admit that I was apprehensive being blindfolded as of course, being unable to see gave me this feeling of not being in control. However, as the activities went on, it got less intimidating and I was able to loosen up. I realised that with out your eyes, safety pins and rice really did feel the same.
Anyway, it was time for us to enter the exhibit area, and we were brought through this door leading to a dark area. We were no longer blindfolded, but issued white sticks to aid us in our journey, and then, we were ushered into the exhibit where our journey began. The place, was pitch black that even if you opened your eyes, there was nothing... nothing at all... Well, to save the suspense for those going for the journey, I would not continue other than just adding that your senses were crucial for the journey.

On the overall, the whole exibit was wonderful with great effects and surprises. I would definitely recommend it to everyone to have an experience at this place. It is located in Ngee Ann Polytechnic itself with low prices for students. There are also group discounts and come on.. the normal price for it is also not very steep. So, just step up and enter this world... It would be something out of the ordinary..
