Photoshoot - Spring Couture 2010

Couture Photo Shoot

Had a private shoot today with the theme - Couture.

It was just a simple outdoor shoot where we went around the heart of Singapore and enjoyed the nice scenery a little here and there, while we could also spend time doing something unconventional.

The shoot was dedicated to the current fashion of spring-summer and hence the mixture of denims, florals and beige heels to create the couture look with a very light touch to maintain simplicity in make and get up.

Here were some of those that I really liked from the shoot! Enjoy.

All credits to Sebastian for capturing these shots. Anyway, I would just like to say, Thanks for your hard work love! It would not have been possible without you.

Super Junior H - Cooking Cooking MV

Cute But I Hope My Skill Are Not Like This

What is so fascinating about this would be the opening and closing voice featured in the video. SNSD's Sunny has such a high pitch and bubbly voice. I can't believe she recorded that without any special effects. I had been trying to achieve it.. But, I guess Ageyo style is not for me.

Yvette's Wedding

A beautiful Saturday morning for a wedding at the Changi Bethany Church to take part in this holy matrimony between Yvette and her husband John. Church weddings were always my favourite with simple with songs of praise and the words of God. A day to make a lifetime of promise and dedication.

Japanese Cuisine - MOF @ Izakaya

MOF @ MY IZAKAYA

Had a wonderful time with Seri here today at the MOF@My Izakaya - Bugis. It was a cozy place with few people and yet, it was really nice to chill out at and spend the afternoon there. It was a very conducive environment for us to really talk and relax!

The initial goal was to have a short discussion there over lunch and it was a really fruitful one I must say. Besides that, I guess the food and staff were also nice and I enjoyed being there. Here is what we had for lunch.

Green Tea

Char Siew Ramen

Salmon Salad

But what was most shocking was the bill when it came! MOF was having it TEA SPECIAL PROMOTION and it really made the whole experience even more pleasant and worth while with such affordable prices! Members are also entitled to awesome privileges. Their desserts are the bomb and it would definitely be a must try the next time we try MOF! We all can't wait to visit once more! We would also recommend the Bugis outlet as the staff were really nice to us. Shall update more on what we have tried the next time!

Make Up - Candy Doll Blusher Review

Candy Doll Blusher Review

So before I begin with the review. Perhaps It would be better to give a brief introduction about what Candy Doll is and What it has to offer to us. I had previously introduced Dolly Wink which does lashes for ladies to achieve the dolly look and Candy Doll on the other hand offers cosmetics and is part of Dolly Wink merchandise which is very popular in Japan in the current moment. However, athough Wink lashes are already in town, the make up products have yet to hit the market.

Summary About Candy Doll
  • Cosmetic Brand By Candy Doll
  • Available Only In Japan and China
  • Offers Different Types of Cosmetics such as Lip Gloss, Primers, Highlights, Blush..etc.
  • Model: Tsubasa (Pop Sister)
So, they offer an array of products which are very well brought out by Pop Sister's Tsubasa and is a dynamite for bring out the dolly style in you. Here are some example of wonderful looks which could be achieved with the products from Candy Doll.

Sassy/Sexy

Dolly/Sweet

Fresh/Natural

Looking at how great the effects of the make up could be, I of course could not resist the Pop Sister's Princess endorsement line,
and got one for myself when I was in Japan. Now back to the review!

So this is how the container looks like after being removed from the packaging. I found it a little too simple, with a transparent lid cover and just the Candy Doll words and logo printed on. But perhaps, simplicity isn't that bad after all. It is not your very fancy packed products like those from MAC, Bobbi Brown and so on, but well, the tone and quality of the product is what counts best!

This time, I picked the 'Peach Pink' tone to bring out the fresh look for summer and the picture is really quite true to the real tone that the blusher is. There are also other blush and highlights available such as Pink Strawberry, Kyarotto orenji (Orange), Violet and Beige cream.

Why choose Candy Doll? Well, First thing is that the blusher is really easy to apply with a simple dash with your kabuki brushes or cheek brushes. It is light on the skin and helps to give off a healthy and natural glow on your face.

Even if you are naturally fair like me, you will see a slight tinge of the blusher on your cheek bones. I only apply a little of the blusher on my cheeks and still it helps me give off a radiance and yet, not making me look over-done. With the easy usage and the right tone for my skin, I really enjoy using this product and regret not getting more! But perhaps I could get some if it comes to Singapore, or on my next trip to Japan. I'm not sure about you guys, but this has been quite a good product to use so far for myself and I like it, thus I would recommend it to you all!

If you all are really interested, you could also get them online or on sprees and this blusher costs approximately SGD$30. So look out for them! Candy Doll offers a great mixture of products for cosmetics and applied correctly, they could give off your most desired look - Dolly. As for now, I would also suggest to take a look at their latest face glitter series. Look awesomely glamourous!

Have fun exploring what they offer and I'm sure that you would be enjoying the products that are affordable and easily applied on the face, as I am. =)

Fashion - MA*RS

MA*RS

This IS one of my favourite stores in Japan. Love it with me for it's really fitting clothes and bring out the best of your contours, and also, fancy Gal designs with very good service from well dressed up store tenders (You could see one in the BG of this picture in that cute black dress and ribbon)! However, clothes are not the only things they have and their merchandise spans from TOP to TOE, meaning that they have everything from head accessories, bags to shoes!

MA*RS is a store that is a dreamland for all girls as it caters to many styles and caters for a good mix of designs for girls who have really different tastes. Besides being so chic, they are also frequently featured in popular magazines such as S-Cawaii, Ageha, Blenda, Popteen, Nuts and more! Here are some of the very popular models advertising for MA*RS.

I for one fell in love with their designs and would really go back there again to get my dreamy fancy GAL styled designs. I'm still thinking about my trench coat with golden heart buttons and the kimono back sash... Aww man...

Putting that aside, for those who would want to take a look at the designs they have at MA*RS, It is just a click away to visiting their online web Store! Instead of having to go all the way to Japan, I would introduce their web store which makes it all the more easier to get what we want. Although not all designs and discounted items are up for grabs online, they still do have a very wide variety! So Enjoy! I'm sure there are some things that you would really want after entering their wonderful site.

Fashion - Cecil McBee Summer 2010

CECIL McBee Summer Fashion

During my Japan trip, I made several trips to CECIL and I really love their service and goods. Bought a simple Lace Top and Military Vest from there and i'm loving it. I just regret that I didn't get more. After all, I realized that the quality is worth the price. The clothes are just so soft and comfortable, and not to mention fitting. Doesn't look as good in the pictures here so you guys have to make do with it. But I shall take pictures with it the next time when I wear it out!

Military Vest

Anyway, although i didn't get much, I think that their summer catalogue could really be helpful to the rest of us for finding something that is CECIL in style! So as spring/summer fashion is 'in' at the moment, we are still looking at the ever so western style with the tassel boots, floral/animal prints, lace and denim. Go for the casual chic look this season and you can never go wrong.

Note: Choose colours to compliment your skin tone and outfit!

First up would be wear that gears you up for a day on a beach. BOATER HATS & MAXI DRESSES give you just the right sizzle bohemian style, on the outing. Go for vibrant colours such as reds, purples, yellows, pinks and greens to freshen up your entire look. You could also spice up yourself by matching up simple accessories or florals. This is where the hats, bangles and beads come in.

Next would be getting ready for a day out by the beach. This is a little different from being on a beach as footwear is something you have to consider. So now, as we are discussing a date by the beach, a totally different thing, footwear comes into the picture. Thinking about feet, what else would be better than fixing yourself up with a cowboy look.

Go for STRAW BAGS, COWBOY HATS, TASSEL BOOTS, DENIMS & FLORAL TINGES on your outfit to create a look that reflects a vibrant character.

Note: Go for cowboy boots with indents on boot opening (Picture 1).

But forgetting about the beach, a casual day out should be no problem and CECIL's catalogue has many different styles all planned out just for us. Maxi dresses for one is a must and is a stayer this season. Notice the use of caramels in the belts and shoes as points to accentuate different features on your outfit such as the waist and feet.

ROMPERS & TASSEL VESTS/SHOES are also some things that you use to make the look work. However, besides using hats, try BRAIDING your hair for an Indie effect.

Next, would come my favourite outfit as it emerges that fashion of animal prints into the current season. Not everything has to be bright and cherry. I would also like to try out this cool yet mysterious look that they have introduced. This would be something to consider if you feel that florals and bright colours are not your thing. Go for PRINTS & DENIM. They can still bring out the summer in you.

Last would be a showcase of the current new instocks that CECIL McBee has in stores to match the fashion that has been offered. Blings and bags are always the 'In' and I particularly love the little black wallet clutch bag (Picture 2). Remember to match up your outfits with simple accessories so as to not clash with the colours!

So, if anyone goes to Japan, buy from CECIL McBee. Prices maybe a little steep in comparison to what we have back home, but quality is what matters! So with that last fan call to you guys, I sum up this review and I hope you guys enjoyed my rantings and what CECIL McBee has offered for all of us. Have fun finding the inner Fashion Guru in you! =)

Note: Pardon the quality of the pictures and scans please! My scanning and photography isn't that great *HOHO*!
