Thanks to E2i, I had the opportunity to attend the Ginvera Skin Care Workshop held at Republic Polytechnic Cultural Centre. This aim of the workshop was probably to teach ladies how to carry out skin care with their products and yes, there was a vast lot.

The Presentation

Covered most of the points on how blackheads form and the reasons and preventions for acne and other skin problems.

The Ambassador

Michelle Chia, their long-time ambassador was mentioned in almost everything during the talk. But I must say, that she really has almost perfect complexion, from a personal encounter with her.

The Products

A variety of skin care from their latest series (Green Tea Whitening Set). There was a whole range from cleansers, toners and creams. I felt that the marvel gel had the greatest effect and hence let me show you guys what I mean.

Testing Ginvera Marvel Gel (Green Tea)

Well, they claim that with use of the marvel gel, you can say 'bye' to your blackheads in a wash. I tried it first on my hand then on the face, and this is what it would look like during use.

Before

Apply an adequate amount (20 cent coin) on your dry hand and rub in a circular motion. Always use marvel gel on dry skin.

After

Beads would appear on your hand after a while of rubbing and those would be your dead skill cells. Do not think that this is just the effect of the gel. In fact, we tried it on the table as well, and there were no such beads formed. Impressed?

Wipe off the gel with a tissue or cotton wool and feel the difference. There was a cooling and smooth feel to my skin and there was obvious difference to the texture on my hands. It wasn't bad at all!

Of course there were also other cool products which I enjoyed.

Ginvera Green Tea Toner

Refreshing and gets easily absorbed into your skin without leaving a layer of sticky residue. Thumbs up!

Ginvera Jade Dark Eye Circle Roll Away

Probably one of my favourite as well, since I have always had problems with those dark eye circles!

Enjoyed myself during the workshop as we learnt about the way to use each product and care for our skins. Of course, we also did not leave empty handed! Loads of freebies were given out by the friendly staff and trainers. Wonderful!

Free Take Homes

I enjoyed the session with my babes and it was really fun to attend such workshops as we get to learn from the professionals, and thus make us more proficient in handling our own skin. Thanks again, to the Ginvera staff for their earnest teaching attitudes.

Didn't take pictures of everything that she got for me, but well, you guys would be able to share the joy when I have the time to slowly explore the wonders of each new product from my favourite Korean brand - Skin Food.

A-Solution Natural Make Up Skin Pact Review

While exploring a store, I stumbled upon this product by a-solutions and was really intrigued by it's packaging as it was very obviously a Korean star embossed product (SNSD Member).

a-solutions is a great brand known for caring for troubled skin and has available products for both men and ladies. Hence, it was rare that I could dig up such an item locally and decided that I would not let the opportunity to try the product just go like that. I, as a sucker for such items, was super curious about how good this product was an hence, I ended up getting a box for myself to try out.

After I opened the pack, the container was in this vibrant pink which was ultra cute. However, inside, was something even better as I found that it contained a very soft and smooth micro-fibre powder sponge.

Not many products come with such good quality sponges and felt that it was really a good deal for the price of $16.90 which I purchased it on a 25% discount. Besides that, this was not a common brand that can be found in Singapore, and hence, I was really happy with my steal buy.

So next, it was time to test out the quality of the product. To me, the Natural Make Up Skin Pact was really worth the buy in my opinion as it came in a super sweet pink tone which was light on my skin. Besides that, the glitter sparklies in the powder itself was superb in creating a very smooth, healthy glow. Also, the feel of the micro-fibre sponge on my skin was just so pampering! However, it should also be noted that this powder provides very natural coverage and cannot be used as a foundation type base or concealer for people with really troubled skin or undertones.

Although it is suited as a finisher, the best part would be the very effective oil and sebum control effects that this light powder pact offers. It was claimed to have oil control qualities and yes, I do agree that it does really help to reduce the amount of secretion (in terms of oil on the face) greatly. I was able to still have a fresh oil-less face even after a hard day at work. Fantastic!

To conclude, I thoroughly enjoyed using the product and it has become the finishing for my make up from now. Hope that more products would be seen in the local market soon as it is something really inexpensive, yet useful for all ladies.

Skin Care - H&M Hello Kitty Moisturizer

Vanilla On Your Skin

Received this very cute gift from a friend of mine after she had returned from Hong Kong. I wasn't really expecting anything at all, but she did surprise me with this super cute Hello Kitty Body Lotion by H&M, and I love it!

Not sure what other scents this lotion comes in, but mine was Vanilla Blossom. Although I can't put a scent box up here for everyone to take a sniff, I must really comment that the aroma is super intense at first.

But the magic of the lotion is that the scent really lightens after applied on the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and moisturized unlike some which get real sticky. Also, with a tinge of aroma left after application, everything is just right! Really enjoyed using it! It was super sweet of my friend to get this super cute lotion pack for me. Thanks babe!

So before I begin with the review. Perhaps It would be better to give a brief introduction about what Candy Doll is and What it has to offer to us. I had previously introduced Dolly Wink which does lashes for ladies to achieve the dolly look and Candy Doll on the other hand offers cosmetics and is part of Dolly Wink merchandise which is very popular in Japan in the current moment. However, athough Wink lashes are already in town, the make up products have yet to hit the market.

Looking at how great the effects of the make up could be, I of course could not resist the Pop Sister's Princess endorsement line,

and got one for myself when I was in Japan. Now back to the review!

So this is how the container looks like after being removed from the packaging. I found it a little too simple, with a transparent lid cover and just the Candy Doll words and logo printed on. But perhaps, simplicity isn't that bad after all. It is not your very fancy packed products like those from MAC, Bobbi Brown and so on, but well, the tone and quality of the product is what counts best!

This time, I picked the 'Peach Pink' tone to bring out the fresh look for summer and the picture is really quite true to the real tone that the blusher is. There are also other blush and highlights available such as Pink Strawberry, Kyarotto orenji (Orange), Violet and Beige cream.

Why choose Candy Doll? Well, First thing is that the blusher is really easy to apply with a simple dash with your kabuki brushes or cheek brushes. It is light on the skin and helps to give off a healthy and natural glow on your face.

Even if you are naturally fair like me, you will see a slight tinge of the blusher on your cheek bones. I only apply a little of the blusher on my cheeks and still it helps me give off a radiance and yet, not making me look over-done. With the easy usage and the right tone for my skin, I really enjoy using this product and regret not getting more! But perhaps I could get some if it comes to Singapore, or on my next trip to Japan. I'm not sure about you guys, but this has been quite a good product to use so far for myself and I like it, thus I would recommend it to you all!

If you all are really interested, you could also get them online or on sprees and this blusher costs approximately SGD$30. So look out for them! Candy Doll offers a great mixture of products for cosmetics and applied correctly, they could give off your most desired look - Dolly. As for now, I would also suggest to take a look at their latest face glitter series. Look awesomely glamourous!

Today I would be sharing with you all the skin care products that I have been using from skin food and would be introducing today would be the BLACK RASPBERRY SET which actually concentrates on moisturizing, revitalizing and tightening for a silkier faced you. This set consists of a basic five step care regime and I would go through what each product does for your skin. Here goes!

Black Raspberry Toner

Description: Comes in 135g and contains ingredients such as jayangboeumdan and cheongyeodan extracts from 12 medical herbs. It moisturizes the skin and acts as an anti-aging agent to help retain succulent skin which is firm and wrinkle free. I found this very effective the the skin absorbs the toner almost instantly, leaving a fresh feel with no stickiness or residue.

Usage: After cleansing, apply on to face gently by patting it onto face till fully absorbed.

Black Raspberry Emulsion

Description: This product just entered Singapore stores in November 09 and comes in a bottle of 135g as well. It is a hydrating fluid which is high in antioxidants and penetrates deep into the skin with anti-aging peptides. It is also a moisturizer and gives you a refreshed feeling after use. This emulsion smoothens out your skin and makes it feel 'Q' in a way that it would have an extra tinge of bounciness after using.

Usage: Use a pea size to dabble on face and pad it out evenly onto the skin till absorbed.

Price: $41.90

Black Raspberry Su Serum

Description: Comes in a 45g bottle pact and helps to moisturize the skin with fresh nutritious serum which helps to maintain healthy and silky skin. This is a great skin care companion as the nutrients get locked into the skin and you can feel it for yourself the silky effect and lightness of skin after use.

Usage: After toner, apply to face gently until fully absorbed.

Black Raspberry Su Cream

Description: This comes in a 50g jar and is one of the best since it facilitates generation of collagen in the skin. Works deep into the skin and hydrates as well as gives you a fresh feeling. A great wonder for revitalizing skin.

Usage: After serum apply pea size on face and dab until absorbed.

Black Raspberry Youngyang Serum

Description: Comes in a 45g bottle and works to facilitate balance in your skin between the elements of Yin and Yang for a younger face. It hydrates and works to keep your face moisturized for a longer period of time.

Usage: After toner, dab till absorbed.

These products are really light on the skin and helps to maintain youth while giving you an extra glow and does not over moisture the skin as well. I enjoy using them as the products are absorbed into your skin almost instantly and the best part is that no residue or stickness will be felt if applied correctly. It will only leave you feeling hydrated and with silky skin. Sebum is controlled and this care system before you put on make up or for before you go to sleep, can be arranged and used to your own needs.

Not every bottle has to be used after every time you tone your face. For example, It could be alternating between Su set and Youngyang depending on yourself, which I do. As it is, the prices are not exactly very inexpensive for the size of the products. But skin care starts young and I do feel that these organic products are really worth the price.

These are basically the five products that are the main pieces in the Black Raspberry Series.

Spring is a season where every girl deserves to look refreshed and sweet so this was featured in POPTEEN March issue. The style featured here is known as Raku Mori, which emphasizes on creating a fresh look and looking light with minimum make up.

Key Points To Succeed:

1. Eyeliner ONLY at top eye lid waterline
2. NO eyeliner on bottom waterline
3. RIMMED lens to enlarge eye.
4. Fake Lashes especially BOTTOM lashes to substitute bottom eyeliner.

Make Up - Red Earth BB Cream

I recently added this to my make up hull and it would be none other then the newest BB cream launched by Red Earth. I was searching for a good concealer that did not end up cakey after being exposed to perspiration from heat outside since I have always had this problem. Hence on just a random occasion when I was just browsing through some products at SASA, I began my search for a concealer that would give me flawless skin if possible, and fulfill my requirement of not becoming overly thick around the areas in which I would apply it.

After trying out many brands, I found that this was one that suited my skin tone and was really something different from the rest of the concealers that I was recommended. First up, I have a great problem of getting the correct concealer as I am fair with a rosy tinge on my face, thus many concealers tend to be too yellow for me.

But, this, although not very light in tone, was excellent with smooth and light finish. I was quite impressed with the product as it was also considered inexpensive. The best part would be the brush head in the BB cream/concealer as you would not have to blend with your fingers, pulling the delicate eye area, but just use the nozzle and lightly blend the cream onto the areas you wish to. By doing this, it would also accentuate the eye area making it look fresh and dewy.

The Red Earth BB cream is user friendly and is applied easily to the skin to cover up flaws. I would recommend this to all girls, especially with fair complexion. It comes in 2 tones with this Cocoa one as the darker tone. The other one is a lighter tone (forget the name for it) but it may be too light for a concealer, which I wanted it to be. Price is fairly moderate and thus, a great buy for girls who want lovely finishes. It also works as a pore concealer by the way! =) Loving it for now..

P.S: I paired this up with Skin Food's BB Cream as the foundation layer for my skin. They blend in well together and would give a nice tone after blending. Hope you guys like the recommendation that I would like to share to help all fair ladies with concealer issues!
