Mount Fuji Part 1 (Gotemba Outlets & Fuji)
Moved on to Mount Fuji today on the Shinkansen Tracks (Bullet Train) today. It was a really interesting thing to get on as this would be the fastest train on the earth as yet. The train was really going ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM and there would only be one word to describe it - AWESOME. Here is what it looks like in the station. And to describe how fast it is, a normal 10 min ride on the train could equivalent to a 45 min drive on the roads. GOSH.
We then got on the platform and tried to snap pictures of the place and the trains zooming past! Look at the wind and stuff! Got into the train and OFF we went!
After that, we stopped over at a mini pit stop for lunch on arriving at Gotemba and grabbed ice cream. I must say that the ice cream here was like great and that the ice cream in Japan is totally NICE - smooth and yummy! Look at mum!
Anyway, we then hopped over to the Premium outlets in Gotemba. Mum got to get her Prada bag and we were just zooming here and there to see if there was anything that we could get. But it was quite a disappointment as there was really nothing much that was affordable with normal tee's costing approx SGD90. EMO.
It was then time we headed up the mountain to FUJI and on the way, I saw this mini race pitstop. Since Mount Fuji has such a long road both in and outbound, this was like the perfect racing spot. There was Bridgestone, Honda, etc garages at that stretch. It was cool with people going there to view track races, but i think illegal road racing is such to be something unspokenly happening there!
As we headed higher, my nemesis came. We were not expecting snow, but holy crap, there was! It was super cloudy and we could only go up to the fourth station due to the winds and snow. I was quite disappointed but the fact there was snow at least told me that we could spend our time up there doing other things like trashing each other with snowballs.
Not As Feeble As You Think
Ok, after like 45 minutes of shivering in the crazy cold weather we headed to our ryokan styled hotel to enjoy dinner and take a rest in our yukata's! We practiced it the night before in the other hotel, so wearing it in the new hotel was a piece of cake!
Fat Boy Samurai's LOL
After dinner, we headed to the lake and the night was so beautiful with the eerie white cheerie blossoms over the water. Nice, but mum was like screaming that the place was uber cold and she was going to die of the cold. LOL.. so yea, we headed back to the hotel.
Ah, I love this picture.. love Japanese culture and I got to be 'gentle' looking in this attire. But with the cold wind blowing, even I could not stand it. Heh, enough of looking at the scenery there and I headed back to pamper myself with PUDDING, Coke and TV all cuddled up in the FUTON. Now that is what you call a holiday!
